WELCOME TO CELLNEX

Through the acquisition of Cignal in 2019, Cellnex is Irelands newest Telecommunications Infrastructure Provider, focusing primarily on the development and management of tower sites and fibre infrastructure to meet the requirements of the wireless communications industry.

The Cellnex portfolio of sites in Ireland consists of over 550 towers, actively supporting mobile, fixed wireless broadband communications and broadcast services in the Irish market. As an independent infrastructure provider, Cellnex seeks to maximise the use of this infrastructure to support requirements for a range of customers. This serves to reduce the proliferation of tower sites, delivers sustainable infrastructure and reduces the cost of deployment for our customers.

Cellnex is committed to investing an additional €60m to build up to 600 new sites by 2026, to continue its mission of providing the necessary infrastructure supporting the improvement and availability of high-speed wireless broadband in rural areas, and helping mobile phone operators address coverage blackspots.

The ongoing investment programme means Cellnex will continue to address the objectives of the Mobile Phone and Broadband Taskforce established by the Government in 2016 to identify solutions to broadband and mobile phone coverage deficits across the country.
